
Craig Allen Brown

Craig Allen was born in Landstuhl, Germany. He split time between Dallas, Texas and Sacramento, California as a child. After graduating from Franklin D. Roosevelt (Dallas, Texas), he enlisted in the U.S. Army as a personnel actions specialist. He served for 22 years, including overseas tours in South Korea, Germany, Iraq, Kuwait and Israel. Upon retiring from the Army, he enrolled at Clark Atlanta University and majored in mass media arts, with a concentration in radio, television and film. He graduated with honors in 2018. He was hired as an editor at The Atlanta Voice newspaper, and was quickly promoted to managing editor. Currently, he is a middle school teacher in Fairburn, Georgia; he also serves on the executive board of the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists (AABJ). He resides in Marietta, Georgia with his wife Ursula and daughters Nia and Alleyna. His work has been featured in several print/online publications, including Clark Atlanta University’s The Panther, the Atlanta Voice, HBCU Times, the National Newspaper Publishers Association, and others.
When he is not writing, he likes to spend time with his family, travel, workout and listen to the world’s greatest group, the Isley Brothers.
